The production by Waugh and Pat Manske is teeming with a western folk sound that harkens back to a simpler time. Filled with acoustic guitar and accordion the music perfectly cradles Leslie's voice and lyrics. The result is fifteen minutes of music that is a satisfying treat. As is her forte, Leslie's songs always have a story to tell.

about

I made a wrong turn on a drive from Dripping Springs to Houston and was headed to Lampasas. As I turned the car around the line, "I lost sunglasses in Lampasas" came to me. I wrote the rest of it on the way home. In the studio "I Lost My Heart in Dallas" came to life with plucky classical guitar and melancholy accordion. It has a hint of yesteryear and fit right in with my songs about cowboys.

lyrics

I lost sunglasses in Lampasas
And a shoe in San Antone
A diamond earring out in Lubbock
And in Sugar Land my phone
I’ve lost stuff in lots of places
None of its tearing me apart
Not like the time I went to Dallas
That’s where I lost my heart

His eyes were greener than the water
In the Corpus Christi Bay
He twirled me out onto the dance floor
We could have waltzed across the state
He kissed me underneath a full moon
Rising over Highland Park
That’s where it happened
That’s where I lost my heart

Who’s to blame, it’s a lover’s game
I endure the pain to fan the flame
If it’s all the same I’d do it all again
And take my chance on love

I lost my innocence in Fort Worth
That’s where he said goodbye
Somewhere south of Corsicana
I had myself a real good cry
I’ve lost stuff in lots of places
None of it’s tearing me apart
Not like the time I went to Dallas
That’s where I lost my heart

Who’s to blame, it’s a lover’s game
I endure the pain to fan the flame
If it’s all the same I’d do it all again
And take my chance on love

I lost sunglasses in Lampasas
And a shoe in San Antone
A diamond earring out in Lubbock
And in Sugar Land my phone
I’ve lost stuff in lots of places
None of it’s tearing me apart
Not like the time I went to Dallas
That’s where I lost my heart
I've lost stuff in lots of places
None of it’s tearing me apart
Not like the time I went to Dallas
